Archive and restore
Archiving removes conversations or projects from everyday lists while retaining their history locally. See backup and migration to preserve data outside the device.
Open
Archive a conversation or project
- Open the item's menu in the sidebar.
- Archive it and confirm it leaves the regular list.
- Open Archive in the sidebar and locate it there.
Project archiving affects the visibility of its conversations. Projects and conversations store separate archive flags; separately archived conversations still require restoration after their project is restored. Archiving does not copy, move or roll back project files, or stop background processes.
Find and restore history
Search
The archive lists projects and conversations. Search filters conversation titles, models or project names. Clear the query and check the regular list if an item is missing.
Restore
Use the item's restore action and verify that it returns to the sidebar. Open it to check history, model and workspace. Directory grants or remote credentials may need reconfiguration after migration.
Permanently delete
Deletion requires confirmation. Deleting an archived conversation removes its history; deleting a project affects its conversations. Back up anything needed first. Removing conversation records does not remove workspace files; see file management.
Verification example
Create a conversation called “Archive test”, archive it, search for it and restore it. Confirm its messages and workspace before using the workflow on real tasks.
